Welcome to Hidden Highlands Ranch Home Page

About Us:

The century old 'Garcin Ranch' located in 'Central Coast California' within the Los Padres National Forest has been sustained by raising beef, sheep and swine. Our ancestors also tried growing dry land crops. Success was determined by the ever changing drought cycles typical of our Mediterranean environment. The region is arid with little water sources. Therefore, we have developed ponds and springs to maintain the 20,000 acres of chaparral country that our cattle cover. Stewardship of the land is important to maintaining healthy livestock. We are careful to utilize the land sparingly. Always allowing old feed to remain, reseed and act as cover and protection for the next years growing season.

Along with our livestock we raise our working animals that help us on the ranch. We have our own breeding program of foundation Quarter horses and paints. We developed our program with horses that have common sense and have good confirmation for mountain terrain.

We couldn't do our work without our Mcnab/Border collie dogs. They flush cattle out of thick brush and will stop the cattle 1/2 a mile away. These dogs are bred to withstand the rigors of rugged, brushy terrain and a harsh climate.

Range Fed beef is for sale. Purchase a Whole or Half carcass cut, wrapped and USDA inspected.

Occasionally we have horses to sell and mcnab border collie puppies and adult trained dogs for sale. We can accommodate group rides as well. Just drop us an email or give us a holler on the phone. If we don't get back to you right away it's probably due to no electricity, out of cell phone range or we're just plain busy. 'Life on the Ranch' 24/7!

Herding Stock Dog Placement

All stock dogs have a special place in our hearts. One way I would like to give back to these magnificent dogs is to assure they have good homes. We understand that people's lives change and sometimes they have to let go of their pets or working partners.

My website has opened up many opportunities to meeting new and wonderful potential dog owners. I want to take this opportunity to help those with any breed of Herding stock dogs to re-home their dogs.

So please contact me if you're interested in an older puppy (over 3 months old) or adult dog. And visit my Rehoming and Placement page.

God bless!
